What is a padel americano?
An americano is a social format where every player has a different partner in each round. The points your pair wins in each match are added to your own total, and whoever has the most points at the end wins.
Matches are usually played to a fixed number of points (16, 21, 24 or 32, counting both teams’ points) or to time. With 8 players and 2 courts you need 7 rounds for everyone to partner everyone once.
Americano, pairs round robin or knockout
The americano mixes partners and is ideal for club socials and meet-ups. In a pairs round robin, each fixed pair plays every other pair, and the pair with most wins takes it. The knockout draw is the classic tournament format: lose and you are out, and if the number of pairs is not a power of 2, the top pairs get a bye in the first round.

Is it free? Do I need to sign up?
Yes, it is free and you do not need an account to generate rounds, enter results, download the image or print. We only ask for your email if you want to share the tournament online, to send you the private link used to enter results.
How many rounds does an americano have?
For every player to partner everyone once you need as many rounds as players minus one when everyone fits on court (7 rounds with 8 players). Short on time? Pick fewer rounds: the generator avoids repeating partners and shares out the rests.
What if we are not a multiple of 4?
Players who do not fit on court rest that round. The generator shares out the rests so nobody rests twice before everyone has rested once.
How are points counted in an americano?
Each player adds the points their pair scores in each match. If you set how many points a match is played to, entering one pair’s score fills in the other’s.
Can players see the results on their phones?
Yes. With “Share live” you get a link for the WhatsApp group: players see the rounds, the results and the standings as they happen, with nothing to install.
